BMW Car Art

FaceBook  Twitter
I've long been a fan of this whole series. It really goes down the pipe of two of my loves, cars and art!

"So where is the BMW Art Car Collection at home? All over the world! In particular at top global art venues such as the Louvre in Paris and the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Anyone wishing to see the entire collection of BMW bodywork designs by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons would have had to travel right around the globe; until now."

Katsushika Hoku's "Under the Wave off Kanagawa" woodblock print, created somewhere around 1830, has always been one of my favorite art pieces!

Part of the "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji", it is apparently not a tsunami but a large open ocean wave. Really just an awesome print!

Please visit the MET and read more about this wonderful artwork:

Talk about "color theory", wow she is at the top! I would love to sit and watch her paint (in french) and take notes, really such beautiful work.

I'm a total fan and admirer! Just so amazed by the texture, composition of the tones and shades, and the technique!

Wow, where to start! I've been a huge fan of his work for so many years, since I bought his first Dunny to all the walls he's tagged in my city adventures.

For me, it's his composition and use of negitive space while blowing all that detail into a piece. Just so fun to see! He's really one of those artists that you just want to keep turning the page to see what's next...

He's in Singapore today for the STGCC with a new Kidrobot 10th annaversary Mini Figure, I'm sure they are all sold by now, and many of his works.

Tristan's work can be seen at the Cooper Hewitt Museum and in the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).

Tristan is currently the President and Creative Director of Thunderdog Studios, Inc., a prominent New York based Designer Toy Brand and Creative Agency and happily resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Be sure to check out his personal site and the Thunderdog Studios

His "Paintings explore themes of temptation, gluttony and indulgence." He lives and works in NYC and is represented by the Mary Boone Gallery.

He had a great show this summer at the gallery:

"Inspiration is for amateurs. I just get to work."

There are very few artists that have achieved such fame while going through this much physical adversity. Chuck Close is a true superhero to all artists... and he's got some great quotes!
